Dayashankar Singh finally arrested for his misogynist remark against Mayawati

The Uttar Pradesh and Bihar police finally nabbed Dayashankar Singh in a joint operation on Friday from Buxar in Bihar. Dayashankar Singh, who has been expelled from BJP for six years, had gone into hiding after an FIR was lodged against him for his misogynist remark against Mayawati.  

 

It was just yesterday when photographs of Dayashankar Singh praying at a temple in Jharkhand surfaced on Facebook. It was later removed by the priest who had posted it; he claimed that he was unaware that the minister was facing an arrest warrant.

 

Days after Dayashankar was made the Vice President of the party in Uttar Pradesh, he made an offensive remark against BSP chief, Mayawati and called her a sex-worker.

 

"Mayawati gives tickets for Rs one crore and if there is someone who can give Rs 2 crore than she sells it for Rs 2 crore within an hour. If someone is ready to give Rs 3 crore by the evening, she gives the ticket to him. She is even worse than a sex-worker," Singh had said. His comment invited outrage among the political circle, with the BSP supremo demanding for his arrest.

 

Since then he had been on the run. However, the Bihar and UP police managed to hunt him down on Friday after facing immense pressure from the higher command
