Coronavirus: After losing job, bar dancer turns drug peddler; arrested in Pune
A bar dancer who lost her job due to the coronavirus, entered into drug pedalling. She was caught with drugs worth more than Rs 3 lakh
Pune: The coronavirus enforced lockdown and a shutting down of dance bars made a 30-year-old woman to turn into a drug peddler.
The woman identified as Hema Kisanlal Singh was arrested by the Narcotics squad sleuths in Pune based on information on suspicious movements.
According to reports, the police said the woman was supplying drugs from the last three to four months. Police have sought two more days of custody for further interrogation.
The woman along with her accomplice Vivek Tulsiram Lulla  were arrested near Sadhana Hotel during police patrolling. It is said that both the accused had come from Mumbai to Pune through an Ola cab to deliver the consignment.
It is said that a Mephedrone drug worth Rs 3.3 lakh was seized from them.
As per information, many such young girls and women working in dance bars in Mumbai are forced to enter flesh-trade to meet expenses during the pandemic, lockdown and due to job cuts.
