Congress party's embarrassing performance in the elections was limited not just to Bihar, but also to other states where bypolls were held.

But, perhaps, reflecting the worrying state of affairs in the Congress party was the bypoll outcome in Uttar Pradesh.

In what was being seen as a testing ground for the Congress ahead of the 2022 assembly elections, the party lost its deposit in four of the six bypolls it contested.

The four seats where the Congress was totally routed were Deoria, Bulandshahr,  Malhani, and Naugawan Sadat.

But while questions should have been posed to party general secretary and Uttar Pradesh inchange Priyanka Gandhi, a section of the grand old party is training its guns at her aide and state president Ajay Kumar Lallu.

A former UP Congress party said that Lallu had failed to strengthened the party.

Lallu has already spent enough time and also get a free hand from Party general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to form a team of his choice as well as to kick any senior leader of the Party whom he deemed to be an hindrance in his work, but now the result is before everyone, the senior leader was quoted as saying by news agency UNI.

Prime Minister Modi, meanwhile, targeted the Congress in his victory speech at the party HQ in New Delhi. He said, "family-run parties are the biggest threat to the democracy".

The PM also said that poll results in Bihar and other bye-elections across the nation had made it clear that people will now support only those who work honestly for development.
