Following Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar's meeting with Gautam Adani, BJP leaders Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Shaik Baji slammed the Congress party for its 'hypocrisy' and 'double standards' on business, investment, and job creation.

Keralam Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Rajeev Chandrasekhar on Monday accused the Congress of having "double standards" on businesses and investments, saying that while the party criticises businessmen, Chief Ministers understand the importance of inviting investments to create jobs. He said there was "absolutely no doubt" about the "hypocrisy of the Congress" party and accused it of criticising businessmen while state governments seek investments to create employment opportunities.

BJP Slams Congress' 'Hypocrisy' on Business

Reacting to Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar's meeting yesterday with Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, Chandrasekhar told reporters, "There is absolutely no doubt that there are double standards and hypocrisy in the Congress Party... They abuse businessmen and businesses. On the other hand, the Chief Ministers know that it is by inviting investments in business that they can create jobs..."

Targeting the Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, he added, "Maybe Rahul Gandhi's problem is that he loves meeting foreign businessmen, shady businessmen, and not legitimate job creators and business builders."

Calls for CM's Resignation

Speaking to ANI, BJP spokesperson Shaik Baji also criticised the meeting, alleging that the Congress and Communist parties oppose industrialists despite people wanting development and employment. "People want development, but no one wants to work towards it... This is the policy of the Congress party and the Communist Party... The Congress party tries to drive away leading industrialists from our country... We should demand the resignation of Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar. He held discussions with Gautam Adani for an hour... What does Rahul Gandhi have to say about this?... You keep raising issues related to Adani in Parliament," Baji said in Vijayawada.

'Courtesy' Meeting, Says CM Shivakumar

On Sunday, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani met with Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar at the latter's Sadashivanagar residence in Bengaluru, marking a notable interaction.

After yesterday's meeting with Gautam Adani, CM Shivakumar said it was their first meeting since he became Chief Minister. "After I became the Chief Minister, this is the first time he has come here to meet me. They are doing a lot of jobs here. Even if he came just as a courtesy, he met me and left," CM added. (ANI)
