Anoop who was arrested on August 24 informed the investigating team that Bineesh gave him money to set up business in Bengaluru. It has to be noted, however, that the investigating team has not established any drug links between Bineesh and Anoop.

According to reports, Bineesh and Mohammed Anoop were in touch 78 times between May 31 and August 19. The report added that Anoop informed the investigators that Kodiyeri had loaned him Rs 50 lakh to start a restaurant in Bengaluru.

Last month, the ED in Kerala had summoned Bineesh for an inquiry in connection with the gold smuggling and drugs seizure cases and questioned him for over 10 hours.
