Bengaluru CCB busts drug racket; 204kg of marijuana worth Rs 1 crore seized
In an effort to contain the growing drug menace in Bengaluru, the Central Crime Branch arrested three persons and seized ganja measuring 204 kg worth Rs 1 crore.
Close on the heels of the drug menace that was uncovered in Bengaluru, the CCB, which was trying to look at the Bengaluru violence from a drug racket perspective, arrested three Mysuru residents. Officials seized a whopping 204kg of marijuana worth Rs 1 crore from the inter-state smugglers.
The arrested are identified as Samir Bari (37), Qaiser Pasha (41) and Ismail Sharif (38).
As per a report, officials acting on a tipoff stopped a truck and a car and found the drugs that were supposed to be handed over to associates in Bengaluru, Mysuru, Ramanagara, Chikkaballapura and Chikkamagaluru.
The ganja was sourced from the village of Tuni in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. Accused Bari had taken up this assignment.
The work to supply the drugs to other places was taken up by other two as per reports.
Reportedly, the drugs were also meant to be supplied to places like Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
