Hyderabad: Due to fuel issues in the aircraft, an AirAsia flight from Jaipur to Hyderabad made an emergency landing at Hyderabad airport today. AirAsia India spokesperson said, "AirAsia India aircraft VT-IXC operating as i51543 from Jaipur to Hyderabad on 26th May 2020, encountered a technical issue and carried out a precautionary engine shut down. Handling the situation calmly in a professional manner the crew landed at Shamshabad, as scheduled."

"AirAsia India would like to reiterate that 'Safety First' is a core value and the safety of our guests and crew is the single most important criteria in every aspect of our operations and our pilots and crew are experienced and well trained to manage these situations," the spokesperson added.

AirAsia India spokesperson further apologised for the delay on the subsequent flight and confirmed that passengers have been re-accommodated. All domestic and international flights were grounded since the third week of March as a nationwide lockdown was imposed to contain coronavirus transmission.

It has also sought a direction to the government and the RBI to provide relief in re-payment of loan by not charging interest during the moratorium period. On April 30, the apex court had directed the RBI to ensure that its circular on three-month moratorium on loan repayment between March 1 and May 31 is implemented in its letter and spirit.

The top court had told the Solicitor General, appearing for the Centre, that it appears that the benefit given by the RBI was not being extended to the borrowers.
