The Tokyo Olympics gets underway from Friday. Meanwhile, the Indian shooters would have the eyes upon themselves, especially Manu Bhaker, as she is a top Indian medal-winning prospect. Also, her coach Ronak Pandit has formulated a plan.
The 2020 Tokyo Olympics is already here, as the action starts from Friday. Meanwhile, the Indian shooting contingent is strong, and there are some top medal-winning prospects in the team.
One of the top prospects happens to be pistol shooter Manu Bhaker. While she would be making her Olympics debut this term, she is a favourite to win at least a medal.
Ahead of the same, Manu's coach Ronak Pandit has formulated a plan for her. Under him, she has risen to the top ranks in world shooting, winning more golds than any other competitive medal.
Pandit told PTI that they have trained for around three months. Meanwhile, Manu is a level-headed talent and performs under pressure. She happens to be relaxed and calm, composed and focused ahead of the Games.
"We prepared a lot for the finals, discussed how the mind affects the body and how we could manage the mind better for better execution of the technique. We have made good progress in the time we got, and I am satisfied with it. They need to focus on the process and not think much about the results. Appearing in the Olympics is different from other events," he added.
The Indian shooting contingent has 15 performers, the third most across sporting verticles of the global event after Athletics (25) and Hockey (32).
