Chhatrasal Stadium murder: Wrestler Sushil Kumar hiding in Punjab?
Sushil Kumar has embroiled himself in a controversy following the murder of a junior wrestler, Sagar Rana, at the Chhatrasal Stadium in Delhi last week. He is one of the accused in the incidents and has been absconding ever since. He could possibly be hiding in Punjab.
Renowned Indian wrestler Sushil Kumar's whereabout still remains unknown. He is one of the main accused in the Chhatrasal Stadium murder case that left a junior wrestler, Sagar Rana, dead last week.
Sushil has been absconding ever since he was accused of being a part of it. Meanwhile, sources from Delhi Police have confirmed that the last traced location of the wrestler was in the Bathinda district of Punjab. At the same time, teams are being formed to conduct raids in some places of Punjab and Haryana, and arrest him, reports PTI.
Sushil had persistently denied the charges against him, stating that he is being framed and his reputation is being harmed. He had also applied for an anticipatory bail this week, only to be turned down by Delhi's Rohini Court.
Also, last week, Delhi Court had issued a non-bailable warrant against Sushil, along with the six other accused in the case. Meanwhile, Delhi Police had announced a ₹1 lakh cash-prize reward for Sushil's whereabout information, along with ₹50,000 for his associate Ajay Kumar.
Rana was killed by a group of wrestlers, allegedly involving Sushil, in a brawl at the stadium. There were reports of gunshots being fired, while police also seized five vehicles, along with double-barrel guns and a suspect was arrested.
