Tyre Park in Kolkata to showcase artworks from scrap materials
The doors of various parks in Kolkata have been closed for a long time due to COVID-19 pandemic. At such a time, West Bengal Transport Corporation came up with a unique tyre park in the city which is the first-of-its-kind in the country.

The idea behind the park is to convert waste into art. Nothing is waste and anything that is not being used can take the shape of any art form, that is the message with which the unique park is coming up.
Workers and artists are working round the clock in the park to give finishing touches to the installation.
The park is fully made of scrap and defective tyre parts, which were lying as waste for years in the various bus depots of the state.
Different colors have been used on the tires, so it goes without saying that this park will be colorful. At the same time, the pictures of different animals and birds have been given in the tyres which are bound to draw the attention of children
The Tyre Park is coming up at Esplanade, opposite the Tram control room. The park will have a small cafe, music will provide a little space for people to sit and relax and also enjoy the various craftsmanship made of only tyres.
An official with the transport corporation said, “The idea behind the park is that waste can be converted into art. Nothing is waste and can be art and that is a message with which a unique Tyre Park is coming up in Kolkata.”
The Tyre Park will be launched soon and there will be tickets for entry to the park.
