Karnataka chief minister BS Yediyurappa hoisted the national flag at Manekshaw Parade Ground in Bengaluru on the occasion of India’s 74th Independence Day.
The state government’s 74th Independence Day celebrations on Saturday was a simple affair, without a parade and cultural programmes.
The celebrations were held as per COVID-19 guidelines issued the health ministry. The audience were restricted to 500 invitees, including 75 corona warriors, 25 COVID survivors, defence officials, among others.
CM BS Yediyurappa who recovered from COVID-19 infection addressed the state.
As many as 23 police officers from the Karnataka State Police force were conferred with police medals conferred as part of the 74th Independence Day celebrations.
