India's Covid-19 tally crosses 76-lakh mark with 54,044 new cases and 717 deaths reported in the last 24 hours.
With a spike of 54,044 new cases and 717 deaths reported in the last 24 hours, India's Covid-19 count crossed the 76-lakh mark on Wednesday, as per the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW).
According to the MoHFW, the Covid-19 count in the country is at 76,51,108, including 7,40,090 active cases.
The number of cured and discharged or migrated patients has also neared 68-lakh and is at 67,95,103 in the country.
With 717 deaths, the toll due to the disease now stands at 1,15,914.
Maharashtra continues to be the worst-affected State with 1,74,265 active cases. However, 13,92,308 patients have been cured and discharged in the state, while the disease has claimed 42,453 lives so far.
With 6297 more people contracting coronavirus on Tuesday, the total tally in Karnataka rose to over 7.76 lakh with over a lakh cases termed 'active' by the Department of Health and Family Welfare Services.
Further, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that a total of 8,68,77,242 samples have been tested for Covid-19 so far in the country. Out of these, 10,78,544 samples were tested on Saturday alone.
