Coronavirus: BBMP issues notification, states free COVID-19 testing in all wards
Bengaluru civic agency, BBMP commissioner N Manjunatha Prasad urged people to get tested for coronavirus and they can be treated and will recovery early
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) on Tuesday (July 28) issued a public notification announcing free COVID-19 testing facilities across wards in the city.
"As early detection of coronavirus will help us stop its spread to others, BBMP seeks your cooperation to voluntarily come forward for testing if you have any symptoms," BBMP commissioner N Manjunatha Prasad urged.
He added that citizens need not get worried about testing, encouraging people to come forward. "Majority of the people who get tested at early stages recover very fast," he mentioned in the statement.
A total of 2,77,261 tests were conducted within BBMP limits since the pandemic broke out, as per COVID-19 War Room data released on Monday (July 27).
Though cases in Karnataka recorded an all-time high on Monday (July 27), the caseload in Bengaluru came down drastically to 1,470.
