Coronavirus: 5,000 beds arranged at BIEC COVID Care Centre
After inspected the COVID Care Centre at BIEC, BBMP commissioner N Manjunatha Prasad said only 5,000 out of the 10,000 beds have been arranged so far
The country’s biggest COVID Care Centre, with 10,100 beds, opened at Bengaluru International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) on Tumakuru Road last week.
Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa too had visited the COVID care centre and inspected the facilities and assured that the state was ready to tackle the coronavirus pandemic.
However, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) commissioner N Manjunatha Prasad said that only 5,000 beds have been put in place at the BIEC COVID Care Centre.
Manjunatha Prasad visited the largest COVID Care Centre on July 23 to inspect the facilities.
“Currently only 5,000 beds out of the 10,100 have been readied at BIEC. Another 1,000 beds will be brought in soon,” BBMP commissioner said.
Bengaluru alone reported more than 2,000 new cases in the last 24 hours and has a caseload of over 26,000 positive cases.
