TMC issues show-cause notice to MLA Prabir Ghoshal
The Trinamool Congress on Tuesday (January 26) issued a show-cause notice to Uttarpara MLA Prabir Ghoshal after his resignation from two party posts.

Prabir Ghoshal resigned as a member of the Hooghly district committee and also quit as TMC spokesperson.
However, Prabir Ghoshal made it clear that he will continue to be a member of the assembly and did not have immediate plans to leave the TMC.

MLA Prabir Ghoshal had expressed his anger against the party at a press conference on Republic Day. Talking about the complexities of inaugurating a college in the district, he said, “I personally informed the Chief Minister about the whole situation. She also promised to solve the problem.”

"In front of me, the Education Minister Partha Chatterjee called and instructed to look into the matter. But nothing has been done yet,” he added.

The Uttarpara MLA also complained that no one listened to the Chief Minister. After his remarks, the Trinamool Congress took action against the MLA. A TMC district leader said Mr Ghosal could have sorted out differences with the party instead of going public.

Earlier Bally MLA Baishali Dalmiya was expelled from the party on grounds of breach of discipline.
