Rudranil Ghosh goes one step further to join BJP; meets Suvendu Adhikari
Tollywood actor Rudranil Ghosh who was a follower of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee till recently, on Thursday (January 21) said he was preparing himself to work in a "larger space" in the upcoming days.
On Wednesday (January 20) night, Rudranil Ghosh had met BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari at a social function in South Kolkata. Since then, speculation have arisen that Rudranil might join the BJP soon.
On Thursday, Rudranil Ghosh said that Suvendu Adhikari had asked him on his plans to work for people.
“I replied, yes I want to be active, I want to work for people. I want to work in a larger space, I am taking preparations in this regard. And yes, I have been an admirer of Suvendu Adhikari. He is man whom I like,” Ghosh said.
Earlier this month, Rudranil met BJP leader Shankudev Panda. At that time, Rudranil said that Shankudev Panda had asked him to join the BJP. However, he said that no decision has been taken yet.
Rudranil Ghosh had even voiced his frustration in TV talk shows over not being able to work for people as Commissioner, Right to Public Service, under the state’s Consumer Affairs Department, with which he was associated till mid-December last year.
Rudranil Ghosh also said that the Congress wanted him to join their party but he has not said anything clearly to anyone yet.
