Amit Shah have lunch at Bengal farmer's house
Union home minister Amit Shah eats lunch at a farmer’s residence in East Midnapore’s Balijuri village on Saturday (December 19).
Amit Shah visited Medinipur district on December 19 to address a rally. After landing at Midnapore, Shah visited Siddeshwari temple to offer his prayers and then garlanded Khudiram Bose statue.
Earlier in the day, the union home minister visited Swami Vivekananda’s birthplace in north Kolkata. Coming to Vivekananda's house, Amit Shah said, “I am very fortunate to visit the birthplace of Swami Vivekananda. in his young age has spread the knowledge, culture, philosophy of India all over the world. He acquainted the entire world with universal brotherhood through his speech at the parliament of religions in USA. He tied modernism with spiritualism.”
On Saturday, Amit Shah, BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya and state BJP chief Dilip Ghosh had lunch at a farmer's house in Balijuri village in Paschim Medinipur district.
Sanatan Singh the farmer at whose place Amit Shah had lunch said, “I never expected that Amit Shah will have lunch at my place. I am a farmer. I am too poor to serve anything so I will serve him rice and dal.”
The visit comes at a time when thousands of farmers are protesting against the Centre’s newly passed agricultural bill. BJP has planned an elaborate outreach programme to spread awareness on the farm laws.
