Why Arjun Kapoor feels strange when Janhvi Kapoor calls her 'bhaiyya'; actor talks about his step-sister

After actress Sridevi's unfortunate demise in 2018, Arjun Kapoor and his sister Anshula became close to their father Bonny Kapoor and  their step-sisters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor. It is seen that their relationship has developed a lot in a very positive way. 

From supporting his sister for her films to helping her from nasty trolls to spending more time with them, Arjun has become a strong pillar for Janhvi and Khushi. Recently, both brother and sister (Arjun and Janhvi) graced a magazine cover together for the first time. 

In an interview with Harper's Bazaar magazine, the pair also revealed about their bond. Arjun was quoted as saying, "There were silences. We would meet, but there was no communication worth quantifying." 

To that, Janhvi said, "I have learnt so much from my family. We have the same father, we have the same blood." Arjun pulled her leg for this comment and said, "Glad you caught onto that."

Janhvi additional told the magazine, "And that is something no-one can take away from us. It's not like we go to each other's homes every day, or know every little detail about each other's lives. But I felt instant security with Arjun bhaiya and Anshula didi, a feeling of comfort. I wake up every day knowing that they always have my back, no matter what. And I can say this with more conviction about them than anyone else in my life." 

Arjun had once told that he still feels strange when Janhvi addresses him as 'bhaiyya'. It was during a Clubhouse session with The Bollywood Film Club when he said, "It sounds very strange. Anshula calls me 'bhai' in a very different manner. And now this 'Arjun bhaiya' is a very new thing. So, when Janhvi says that it sounds like very new to me. I have never asked her to call me by any specific name. It comes to them very naturally."

On the work front, Arjun Kapoor is shooting for Mohit Suri’s Ek Villian Returns featuring Tara Sutaria, John Abraham and Disha Patani. Arjun is also awaiting the release of Bhoot Police, also starring Saif Ali Khan, Yami Gautam and Jacqueline Fernandez, on Disney Plus Hotstar on September 17. On the other hand, his sister Janhvi has Karan Johar's two films Good Luck Jerry and Dostana 2.
