Sayani Gupta takes jibe at Shah Rukh Khan for his Gandhi Jayanti post, asks him to speak the ‘truth’
On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti King Khan, Shah Rukh shared a tweet for his fans. However, his former co-star Sayani Gupta has taken a jibe at him over the same.
October 2 marks the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, and many celebrities remember and cherish the values taught by the great leader on social media.
Many Bollywood stars also paid tribute to Bapu by posting messages on his valuable teachings on digital media. One among them was Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan, who has shared a tweet on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The superstar wrote "If this Gandhi Jayanti there is One ideal we would like our children to follow, in good times, bad times and all the time....it should be Hear no bad...see no bad....speak no bad! Remembering the value of truth on Gandhiji’s 151st Birth Anniversary."
However, actress Sayani Gupta reacted to Shah Rukh's Gandhi Jayanti post and said that one must 'say the right thing' and not keep their 'eyes, ears and mouths shut'. The Four More Shots Please! actress said that Mahatma Gandhi taught us to speak up for the truth and the oppressed, and for our Dalit brothers and sisters.
Sayani Gupta stated, "Say something. The Right thing. Gandhi also taught us to speak up for the Truth, the downtrodden, the exploited, for our Dalit brothers and sisters. Don't just shut your ears and eyes and mouths. @iamsrk."
Shah Rukh Khan and Sayani Gupta had shared screen space in the film Fan, which was directed by Maneesh Sharma. Sayani had played the role of Sunaina in the film while Shah Rukh Khan had a double role.
