Puneeth Rajkumar, fondly called Appu and Power star, acted in many blockbuster movies in two decade long career. He enjoyed a massive fan following in the Kannada film industry. Unfortunately, the actor passed away after suffering a massive cardiac arrest while working in the gym this morning. He was admitted to Vikram Hospital in Bengaluru. Puneeth Rajkumar was 46 and was one of the most popular stars in the Kannada film industry. He was admitted to the hospital at 11.30 am this morning. Fans gathered in huge numbers in front of the hospital to mourn the death of the actor. Fans were seen weeping outside the hospital as the news came as an utter shock to the entire fans and film fraternity.

He debuted as a lead actor in Appu in 2002, and recently, he was seen playing a protagonist in KGF maker's films 'Yuvarathna'.

Puneeth Rajkumar has worked in over 16 films as Master Lohith before making his Sandalwood debut. He even won the prestigious National Award for the best child artist for the 1985 movie Bettada Hoovu.

He was lovingly called Power Star. His favourite song was Mithoon Chakravarty's 'I am a disco dancer'. The actor met his wife Ashwini through a familiar friend. He is also known for his memorable show Kannadadha Kotiyaadhipathi. The actor was last seen in the Kannada movie Yuvarathnaa, and it was a massive hit. Industry friends are mourning the death of the actor.
