Mahima opened up about how the conditions were specially made for women in the film industry, and the actresses was expected to be 'virginal'. Mahima also shared that now women are calling the shots and have a better shelf life.

In a chat with Hindustan Times, Mahima Chaudhry revealed that the minute an actress would start dating someone, people would write you off because they only wanted virgins who had not kissed. If one is dating someone, it was like, oh, she is dating, her career is now over, and if an actress has a child, then all the doors in the industry would get closed for her.

However, Mahima Chaudhry feels that the times have changed, and actresses are in a better position now and that female actors are also calling a shot. They get better pays endorsements, are powerful, and have a longer shelf life than before. Mahima Chaudhry has also opened about facing bullying in Bollywood. Last year the actress had accused Subhash Ghai of bullying her and trying to stop the first show.

The filmmaker had reacted to the allegation, saying that he was shocked by the allegation made by the actress. He added that they are good friends and are still in touch with each other. Mahima Chaudhry made her debut in 1997 with Ghai's film Pardes opposite Shah Rukh Khan.
