Saif Ali Khan is currently working on his upcoming movie Adipurush. The film would also cast Prabhas, along with Kriti Sanon. It revolves around ‘Celebrating the victory of good over evil!’, with the backdrop being from Hindu mythology, of Ramayan.
Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan is of late busy to shoot for his upcoming movie, Adipurush. The film revolves around the story of Ramayan, as it aims to present the battle between Hindu lord Ram and Lankan hero Ravan.
The role of Ravan would be portrayed by Saif, as he revealed that he is excited to play the part. Nonetheless, what is controversial is after he said that character of Ravan would be depicted most humanely.
Even in the past, Saif has talked about India’s cultural history, while he even said that the movie would justify the abduction of Sita by Ravan. According to him, the film-makers have decided to portray this war as Ravan’s means to avenge the treatment of his sister, Surpanakha, by Lakshman.
“It’s interesting to play a demon king, less strictures in that. But, we will make him humane, up the entertainment quotient, justify his abduction of Sita and the war with Ram, as revenge for what was done to his sister Surpanakha, by Lakshman, who cut off his nose,” Saif quoted to Mumbai Mirror.
Prior to the movie getting underway, netizens had slammed director, Om Raut, for choosing the cast of the film, especially Saif, owing to his acting skills, nasal voice, height, and even his views on India’s culture and history. Saif has a tendency to alternate facts and history, and give it a whole new look, as he had even stated during his movie Tanhaji that the concept of Bharat did not come before the British rule.
Saif had even said that the movie script of Tanhaji has wrongly portrayed the history and that it had no synchronisation with the original record. He had also said that Ramayan is treated as the actual history of India, by the majority of Indian Hindus.
The movie Adipurush would see Prabhas playing the role of Ram, while Kirti Sanon would portray the role of Sita. As of now, it is slated to be released on August 11, 2022.
