However, the wedding had a no-phone policy. Deepika once revealed the real reason why ceremony was highly guarded. The reason was not privacy, but something else.
Speaking with Filmfare in December 2018, Deepika said that guests were asked to leave behind their phone so that they could truly enjoy the ceremony and not end up clicking pictures.
Deepika said that she wanted every guest at the wedding to be happy and enjoy the wedding to the fullest. She added that guests at her wedding had fun because they were not clicking pictures, instead they enjoyed the moment and danced their hearts out.
Deepika further added that people who never danced were dancing on the dance floor. People who never tasted alcohol were trying wine. It only happened because they were not busy on their phones.
