IPL 2020, Match 15: Talking points as RCB get a convincing win over KKR

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won their third match of the season. They won by eight wickets against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Abu Dhabi.
 

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have reached the second spot of the points table after defeating Rajasthan Royals (RR) by eight wickets. This was the first-day match of the season and was played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
Let’s just ponder upon the major highlights of the match.

Shaky opening start for RR
RCB bowlers nearly overpowered the RR batsmen. Their initial three batsmen namely Jos Buttler, Steve Smith, and Sanju Samson were sent to the dugout within the powerplay overs. It was just Mahipal Lomror, who managed to rescue RR from drowning completely. His little partnerships with other players drove RR to 154 runs at the end of their innings.

Exceptional RCB bowling
RCB bowlers were bowling as if they were competing among themselves for the lowest economy rate. Their economy was exceptionally low and scalped regular wickets. Their pacer Navdeep Saini bowled a maiden over, while Chahal, who took three wickets with an economy of just six, was given the purple cap.

Padikkal-Kohli winning partnership
With an early wicket of Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli consolidated with the young Devdutt Padikkal. Together they made a 99-run partnership between them, which was significant for RCB’s victory. Padikkal scored 63 off 45 balls, while Kohli, who made his maiden fifty in this match this season, scored an unbeaten 72 off 53 balls.

Jofra Shines
Jofra Archer manages to put up a show either with the bat or the ball. On Saturday, he bowled an exceptional spell, scalping Paddikkal’s wicket, while he conceded only 18 runs.
