India have ensured a series win in Australia after they beat the hosts in the second Twenty20 International on Sunday. India are coming off a closely-fought 1-2 loss in the One-Day Internationals. India would now aim to make a clean sweep, as they eye the second spot.
Brushing aside the rustiness and emotions of the 1-2 defeat in the One-Day Internationals (ODI) against Australia, Team India have managed to turn things around in the shortest format of the game. It was evident after they beat the Kangaroos in the second Twenty20 International (T20I) at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), on Sunday, as they ensured a series win.
With this win, India scripted numerous records, as it was their 10th consecutive overseas T20I win, besides being their ninth successive win in the format. Furthermore, they would now aim for a clean sweep in the final T20I on Tuesday, at the same venue, as they eye the second spot in the ICC T20I Rankings.
Meanwhile, as India celebrated the win, it was all smiles at the Team India camp. Moreover, the success also delighted skipper Virat Kohli's Bollywood wife, Anushka Sharma.
Following the win, Anushka shared a photo story on her Instagram handle. The picture happens to be the winning moments of the second T20I for India, as Anushka was enjoying it all on her television screen, at her residence in Mumbai, captioned "Series WIN & Brilliant team effort !! Men in blue".
Anushka usually travels with Kohli during his cricketing commitments. Nonetheless, she has refrained from doing so, as she is expecting her first child next month.
It was earlier, during the lockdown when the couple had come up with the news of the potential arrival of a third member to their family. Since then, Anushka has been sharing pictures of her, flaunting her baby bump on a number of occasions. Also, Kohli would be back to India after leading the side in the opening Test, starting December 17, as he looks to be with her, ahead of the birth of their first child.
Meanwhile, following the win, Kohli, too, took to his Instagram handle to share some pictures of Team India from the second T20I and celebrate the series win. He captioned it, "Amazing game of cricket. Well done boys".
