Shreyas Iyer is the reigning skipper of Delhi Capitals, in the Indian Premier League. He plays for Mumbai in the domestic circuit. He made his debut for Team India in 2017, while he is yet to make his Test debut, as he primarily plays as a batsman, but can bowl leg-break.
When it comes to some of the promising young talents for Team India, Shreyas Iyer is one of the names that indeed features in. The batsman from Mumbai is not just a regular for Team India nowadays, as he has also made a name for himself, leading Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) since the past three seasons.

Most ODI runs in a single over: Iyer scripted a unique feat in an ODI against Windies last year when he smashed 31 runs in an over. Consequently, he holds the record for the same by an Indian.
Youngest skipper: It was in 2018 when he was appointed the captain by Delhi Daredevils (DD), now DC, at the age of 23. As a result, he became the youngest captain ever in the tournament.
Highest T20 score: It was in 2019 when Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy tie against Sikkim, Iyer smashed 147 runs. In the process, he scripted the highest T20 score by an Indian.
Iyer betters Ian Chappell's record: In a rare feat attained by the Mumbaikar, he has bettered Australian legend, Ian Chappell, in terms of scoring the most 50-plus scores in the ODIs. He has the best percentage, of 56.2, while Chappell had 50.0.
