Currently ranked 19th, she has also won the bronze and silver during Asian Games.

She once happened to be a tennis player between 2001-10. Having been playing the sport since the age of nine, she was initially successful. However, she failed to prove her dominance in the long run and never got to represent India in global competitions.
Shoaib Malik-Sania Mirza: The veteran Pakistani batsman was one of the most talked cricketers after he got hitched with Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza in 2010. Sania is one of the top talents in tennis ever to represent India. While she is mostly focused on playing doubles now, it was between 2005-07 when she had a great run in the singles. She rose to a career-high singles ranking of 27, in 2007. Meanwhile, she has won three Grand Slam doubles and mixed-doubles so far.

Although she was married to an Australian businessman previously, she later divorced, as she found love in Dhawan, despite being 11 years older to him.
