Cricketers all over the world are treated with respect. Some of the cricketers are so famous that they tend to get associated with some top women, including actresses. However, some are so generous that they fall in love with media personalities, including journalists.
Cricket might be still a growing sport globally, but cricketers tend to get enough attention and respect of late. Consequently, they are linked with a number of top women, across genres.
However, some cricketers are really generous and find love in the most unusual field of media. On the same note, we take a look at six cricketers, who went on to tie the knot with a journalist.
Imran Khan: The former Pakistani World Cup-winning skipper and now Prime Minister has been involved in three marriages so far. It was his second marriage where he married Reham Khan, in 2014, a journalist from Dawn News. Most importantly, Reham happened to be 20 years younger to him. Nonetheless, it did not last for more than nine months.
Morne Morkel: The South African all-rounder has been married to Roz Kelly since 2014. Roz happens to be a television presenter with Australia’s Channel Nine. The couple is having a good time, as they got married at the Zorgvliet wine estate, near Stellenbosch, with the presence of his Protea teammates.
Shaun Marsh: The prominent Australian opener married Rebecca O’Donovan in 2015. Rebecca is a journalist of Channel 7, in Australia, besides being a former Miss Universe, as she has three children with Marsh.
Martin Guptill: The prolific New Zealand opener also features in the list, as he found love in Laura McGoldrick. She happens to be a journalist with Sky Sport, in New Zealand, as she met him for the first time when she interviewed him. It was in 2014 when they tied the knot. On being asked if it was easy to scrutinise Guptill’s work when he is underperforming, she told Times of India, “I just don’t. I tell the producer I can’t do that.”
Javagal Srinath: The former Indian seamer is the first Indian to feature in this list. He had undergone a divorce from his first marriage. Nonetheless, it was in 2007 when he found love again, in Madhavi Patravali, as he got hitched with her, while she happened to be a copy editor in one of English daily.
Stuart Binny: The Indian all-rounder might not be in the reckoning for Team India at present. However, he is enjoying a decent married life, as he is hitched with Mayanti Langer. She is one of the most popular sports anchors in India, being a regular for Star Sports. The couple tied the knot in 2012.
