The catfight between Sridevi and Jaya Prada is one of the worst kept secrets of Bollywood. The divas were arch rivals ever since they entered the industry. Aiming to be number one and competing for the same projects with bigger stars always blocked their way towards a friendship.
In fact, so fierce was their cold war that the actresses did not speak to each other for over 25 years. Amazingly, the actresses did a number of films together like Tohfa and Maqsad, but once the cameras were turned off, they refused to acknowledge each other's presence.
It was during the shoot of Maqsad that the film's leading men Rajesh Khanna and Jeetendra locked the ladies in a makeup room. Rajesh and Jeetendra believed that this would help them resolve their issues.
However, when they opened the door almost an hour later, the two actresses were still sitting in separate directions and had not spoken a word. Their cold war eventually ended in a party thrown by close friend Amar Singh.
