TS Nagabharanas Allama a treat for all Kannada music lover

The film will take the audience back in time to the 12th-century, in the lifetime of mystic-saint Allama Prabhu. According to the director, Allama Prabhu's life journey was very hard to find because there was no proper information about Allama's birthplace or residences.

You will be surprised to know that the director took almost three years just to compile the script. Nagabharana did a lot of research for the film. It took him one year to study the topic, another year to write it and a third year to make it into a script.

A report also suggested that the director revisited the movie script 50 times before finalising it.

Kannada actor Dhananjaya will be seen as Allama Prabhu in the film and will have many looks in it, one of which is that of a 60-year-old Allama. In an interview, Dhananjaya talked about his role and how he prepared himself for it, he said, "It's hard to know someone like Allama as there is so much to learn about him. It was a hard topic to understand, and I found it quite challenging."

He also said that he read up about him for a year and had several discussions with the director on the subject. He added, "I had to prepare hard as you can't simply act out such a character of a poet-saint, given that it's a biography,"

According to the reports, the actor also practised yoga and learnt to play the mridangam for a year. The film features Meghana Raj as well in a lead role. Meghana plays Maya, while Sanchari Vijay plays Basavanna. The director has stated that their acting is such that no one else could have performed the parts better.

The movie will feature 21 tracks, that will feature 18 vachanas and three songs.

We hope the movie hits a chord with the audience and we get to see Karnataka’s ancient culture at its best.
