Mollywood's heartthrob, Dulquer Salmaan or “DQ” as he’s popularly christened by his fans, revealed in a recent radio interview that despite being born to a megastar family, he was not brought up as a rich teenager. Salmaan said, "My parents gave me money only for real needs."

As an undergraduate in the US where he pursued a degree in Business Management from Purdue University, he used to work at a food court to meet his financial expenses because he didn't want to burden his family for his college expenses, adding further, that he could sustain himself with any budget, and can easily adjust according to a given situation.
Last week, Salmaan, completed his five years in the Malayalam film industry. In fact, he is now called one of the biggest crowd-pullers in Mollywood, after giving many hits. Some of his blockbuster hits include: Ustad Hotel, Bangalore Days, and O Kadhal Kanmani among others.
