Tamil actress Ishara Nair aka Ishaara Nair, who was seen in the Tamil movie Sathuranga Vettai, has sparked a controversy by accusing director Kevin Joseph of sexual harassment.

Nair had claimed that Kevin Joseph behaved in an inappropriate manner when the film, Engada Irundheenga Ivvalavu Naala, was being shot.

In an interview with the Times of India, the actress has opened up on the hardships she suffered on the sets of the film. "During the movie shoot, the director used to explain the scene to me in a vulgar way in front of everyone." She also added, "He was trying to touch me while talking to me."

Ishara Nair was not happy with the way Kevin Joseph communicated with her. "He used to push me to the wall and say, 'Pannu dee pannu dee' (Do girl, do) . That was not professional. I was feeling harassed, and I could not do the movie," she adds.

There was a time when Kevin's car hit her, and now Nair is not sure whether it was an accident or whether the director deliberately struck her. Therefore, she wondered how she could work in such unsafe conditions. Nair has not filed any case against the director as she fears the issue will only spoil her name and career.

However, the director has rubbished the harassment allegations. According to the report "Kevin Joseph admitted that he used to call her 'vaa dee' (come, ya) and 'po dee' (go, ya) because he was brought up in Nagercoil (a town in Tamil Nadu), where people talk to each other in such way."

He also added "Even her getting hit by the car was an accident. It was a stunt scene, and the brake did not work."

Nevertheless, the director is willing to apologise if his actions and communication skills have hurt her and requested her to complete the project.
