The Oscar nominations have been announced, and the critically acclaimed film producers are delighted that the film has received not one, two, or three, but 17 significant nominations, setting a new record for any film earning multiple nominations.
Anubhav Sinha's directorial debut made India proud on the international stage last year, receiving two major nominations at the 14th Asian Film Awards. The film was also rewarded with not one but five awards at the Kyoorius Advertising Awards 2020, continuing its winning streak. Thappad won five prestigious awards for its 'World's Most Recorded Trailer' campaign, including 'Direct Response Video,' 'Innovation in a digital marketing communication,' 'Film advertising interactive videos,' 'Innovative use of social media,' and 'PSA press advertising award.'
