Dubai police investigating the details of actor Sridevi’s death questioned hotel staff and those accompanying her including her husband on Monday.
According to Gulf News, police called in Sridevi’s husband Boney to Bur Dubai police station for investigation. Police took his statement after which he was allowed to go back to his hotel room.
The report also suggested that Indian diplomatic official is trying their best to get all approvals so that the body is repatriated as soon as possible. However, they were unable to provide a definite time for the repatriation of the body.
According to TOI, the Dubai police might recreate the sequence of events leading to the discovery of her body in room number 2201 at Jumeirah Emirates Towers.
The police sources said clearance for the body to be taken to India would be given after questioning is completed on February 27, Tuesday. The sources said, “There are questions that we have after seeing the post-mortem report, so we felt we had to reinvestigate the case.”
Therefore, Sridevi’s body will remain at Al Qusais morgue while her the hotel room has been sealed by the Dubai police for reinvestigating.
TOI report also said that the Kapoor and the Marwah family was also questioned. Besides, the hotel’s staff was asked questions about the incident. Dubai Public Prosecution (DPP) will, if necessary, ask for another post-mortem on Sridevi’s body. It is said that Boney Kapoor has been asked not to leave Dubai until DPP permits him. Meanwhile, the police are examining Sridevi’s phone call records.
