The bells of excitement among the Indian audience were already ringing on Priyanka Chopra’s Hollywood debut in Baywatch when the news of Pamela Anderson’s presence arrived to stimulate the fans' hopes.

The excitement doubled when Priyanka's co-star Dwayne Johnson come out with the big news of Pamela Anderson joining the cast.

Dwayne welcomed the sensuous actress on board with an Instagram post:

The Rock said "She introduced the world to ‘CJ Parker’ and became one of the most iconic characters of a generation – for the most successful TV show of all time,” Johnson said. “A pleasure to welcome (as gorgeous as ever) Pamela Anderson to our #BAYWATCH cast. We couldn’t have made this movie without you.  Welcome home. Thrilled you had a blast with us!”

Pamela contradicted her own statement from an earlier interview where she claimed to have no interest in teaming up for Baywatch.

In an interview with an American edition of Harper’s Bazaar, a fashion magazine, Pamela Anderson said "They called me and asked me to be in it, but I haven’t decided yet.”

Anderson said, "I don’t like remakes of TV shows and I kind of want to leave it as is and be remembered for that."

"I don’t know if I want to go on Baywatch and be, like, the old lady working at a counter somewhere," she added.

In the movie, Dwayne Johnson is also accompanied by Zac Efron, Alexandra Daddario, Priyanka Chopra, Hannibal Buress, Belinda Peregrín, Izabel Goulart, Charlotte McKinney, Kelly Rohrbach, Ilfenesh Hadera and David Hasselhoff.

Baywatch offers a big-screen take on the TV series that originally premiered on NBC in 1989.
