“There are contentious sexual scenes, abusive words, audio pornography and a bit sensitive touch about one particular section of society,” said Nihalani.
The film starring Konkona Sen Sharma, Ratna Pathak, Aahana Kumra and Plabita Borthakur in lead roles along with Sushant Singh, Vikrant Massey, Shashank Arora, Vaibbhav Tatwawdi and Jagat Singh Solanki revolves around the life of four women, a burqa-clad college girl, a young beautician, a mother of three and a 55-year-old widow who rediscover their sexuality.
The film has won Spirit of Asia Prize and Oxfam Award at the Tokyo and Mumbai Film Festivals for bringing up the theme of gender equality.
This is how Twitter has seen red over Nihalani’s insensitive comments on the sensitivity of women.
