OMG! This actor beats Puneeth Rajkumar to be the highest paid actor in Sandalwood

Till recently, when compared to Tollywood and Kollywood Kannada actors (heroes) were paid less. But of late, with big budget movies in their kitty, Kannada actors have raised their bars in terms of payment. Now Darshan has taken over Puneeth and has become the highly paid actor with Rs 10 crore per film.

Recently, after the success of Raajakumara movie, Puneeth Rajkumar was in the news for being the highest paid actor with Rs 7 crore being paid for his next flick Anjaniputra.

But the recent news of Challenging Star Darshan being paid much more than Puneeth for the movie Kurukshetra which is in the pre-production stage has shaken the Sandalwood. According to sources, Darshan is charging Rs 10 crore for this movie. Darshan will play the role of Duryodhan in the movie, produced by Muniratna and directed by Naganna.

However, there are rumours that Darshan will play a double role in the movie Kurukshetra. It is said that the role of Karna is of utmost importance in the movie. So, far there is no news on who will play this character. Thus many speculate that both the roles of Duryodhan and Karna will be played by Darshan and that is why he is being offered Rs 10 crore.

 But however, with this Darshan has become the highest paid actor in Kannada film industry.
