Cinematographer-turned-director Antony alleged that the plot of the film Bogan belongs to him. I am fighting a legal battle against the makers of the film, he said.

He has filed a plagiarism case on the Bogan producer, Prabhu Deva and director Lakshman of stealing his story. He has left no stones unturned to stop the release of the film.

However, things got worse when the Bogan team, announced that the film would release on December 23.

Antony filed a police complaint on Wednesday against producers Prabhu Deva, Ishari K Ganesh and director Lakshman. Antony also claimed that his life is in danger as unidentified goons had attacked him.

According to Indian Express, Antony gave a statement that in 2014, he began shooting for his film Hallva.

But, the filming was stopped because of funds shortage. While he was searching for new producers and investors to finish his film, he emailed a copy if the script to Chennai’s Vels University, headed by Ishari K Ganesh.

After learning the story of Bogan was same as Hallva, he approached the South Indian Film Writers Association (SIFWA) headed by director Vikraman.

However, the members of SIFWA were helpless to resolve the dispute and advised him to move the court. Antony has been trying to get a stay order on the film.

On the other hand, Lakshman has dismissed plagiarism charges accusing Antony of trying to extort money from him and also said the Bogan is inspired by many Hollywood films.

Lakshman has also filed a police complaint against Antony for allegedly causing mental distress to the makers of Bogan and spreading rumours on the social media.

The movie has Jayam Ravi, Arvind Swami and Hansika Motwani in the lead roles.

Bogan is produced by Ganesh under the Prabhu Deva Studios banner. It has music by D Imman.
