He shared a posted on Facebook before ending his life, citing financial loss in filmmaking and a dispute with his wife, Priyanka.

In the post, he claimed that Priyanka had been fighting for the past few months, ever since he made losses with 'Dhol Tashe', which he produced in 2013 and flopped miserably at the box office.

Tapkir wrote on the Facebook post that Priyanka wasn’t supportive of his work and they used to have a lot of ugly arguments, which escalated to the point where she threw him out of their house. She also lodged a police complaint against him and he claims he wasn’t allowed to meet their children,

Here are some translated parts of his suicide note.

“I made a film called Dhol Taashe. I really believed making films was my destiny, and I made it my career. But nevertheless, that dream didn’t work out, and had more losses. My parents were supportive of my work, but my wife, Priyanka would fight a lot with me. She blamed me for several things. She also threw me out of my house, and it has been six months."

Tapkir's post mentioned that his wife got her "so-called" brothers to threaten and beat him up. He shared how when some days ago, he called her and abused her, she abused him and his family in return and lodged a police complaint against them. Tapkir has urged Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis that "the police must listen to a man's side of the story too when a woman lodges a complaint".

Tapkir said his last wish was that since his wife cannot look after their children, his father should raise them.

"I apologise to my family, friends and son. Sorry for all the troubles you had to bare because of me. Sorry, I am leaving you all midway but I am yours. One thing I am happy about is that I’ll live with my mom now,” Tapkir ended the note.

Local police said Tapkir consumed poison to kill himself. He had allegedly posted a suicide note on Facebook on the night of Sunday.

The producer was staying in a hotel, located on busy Karve road. The hotel staff called the police after he did not open the door this morning. Police broke down the door to find his found lying on the bed. Inspector Pramod Gaikwad of Deccan Gymkhana police station in Pune said, “A team reached the spot and started investigating the matter,” he said.

The police found the suicide note that Tapkir had posted on his FB account. He left his laptop on in the hotel room. Later, the police contacted his family members, whom they will question on the suicide.
