KV Anand died due to a cardiac arrest in the morning today, April 30. He was admitted to a hospital in Chennai. He passed away at 54, and South superstars from Rajinikanth to Kamal Haasan paid their last tributes.

Last night KV Anand was feeling chest pain and was taken to a hospital in Chennai. There he breathed his last today in the morning.

Kamal Haasan took to his Twitter account and shared his thought of KV's early demise in Tamil. The translated message said, "KV Anand, who started his career as a photographer in magazines, has established himself as an outstanding cinematographer and director due to his unwavering dedication. His demise is a huge loss to cinema. My heartfelt condolences."

Rajinikanth was deeply shocked by KV Anand's death. He wrote in his tweet, "The demise of the respected KV Anand is shocking and painful. My deepest condolences to his family who lost him. May his soul attain peace."
