Khushbu Sundar, who enjoyed over a million followers on Twitter, has suddenly quit the microblogging site. The actor-turned-politician revealed to a website that the ongoing negativity on Twitter drove her to take that step.Ā 

According to reports, she has frequently been the target of sexist and Islamophobic abuse on Twitter. Many a time, she slammed the trolls with a befitting reply. However, now she decided to quit.

Speaking to Newsable, Khushboo told, "I won't let the negativity get to me. I want to keep my sanity intact."

When asked about earlier instances of Khushboo known for giving befitting replies on social media she said, "I have been giving befitting replies but this is not me. I am changing as a person. I don't know when I will return to twitter. I have right now deactivated my account."

Reacting to if politically it is not important to be active on Twitter, she said, "None of the leaders contact me on Twitter. Twitter is only a trumpet tool. I agree that Twitter was a platform to share my thoughts and ideas and connect to the world. But my voters are not on Twitter. I want some peace."

However, Khushbu is still available on Instagram.
