The actress typed out an emotional message on her Insta profile along with a picture. The father-daughter duo are seen hugging at an awards function where the she won the Best Actress Award for Piku. During the event, she had read out a letter given to her by her father when she was a teenager.
Deepika wrote, “..."The things that really matter in life are relationships, honesty, respect for your parents and elders. Material success is important, not fundamental to happiness and peace of mind. Thank you Pa for always inspiring us! #HappyFathersDay" (SIC)

DP's dad Prakash Padukone, who is a former badminton player has won several matches for the country, recently celebrated his 62nd birthday. Deepika, who was herself a national-level badminton player and has featured with her father in several commercials.
