Celebs demand end to Centres food dictatorship

We all know that beef has always been a big part of Kerala's non-veg cuisine. Beef curry, beef roast, naadan beef fry and beef ularthiyathu are among the favourite dishes of Keralites, irrespective of their religious beliefs. And the recent news regarding the Centre's cattle slaughter ban had received a massive backlash from the people in the state.

Several Keralites and political parties showed their frustration and protest against the central government order by having beef fests over the weekend and by sharing its photos on social media with the hashtag #beefban. A few film and TV celebrities, including Vineeth Sreenivasan, Tovino Thomas, Aju Varghese, Shaan Rahman, Roopesh Peethambaran, Parvathy, Sayanora, Shameer Muhammed, Vivek Ranjit, Kani Kusruti, RJ Arun, RJ Sooraj and Krishna Prabha, have also come forward to mark their protest against the beef ban.

There was some relief for Keralites as Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who firmly believes that beef should not be banned in the state, stated that the LDF government would take the Centre to court over the order.

Aju Varghese shared a photo where he is having beef rice at Hotel Rahmath in Kozhikode.
