Celebs condemn terror attack on Amarnath pilgrims
- Devotees who were on their way back from Amarnath were caught in the middle of a crossfire between a group of militants and police.
- In this crossfire, 7 pilgrims were reportedly said to be killed while 12 others were injured.
- The film stars sent prayers to the victims of the attack and called it the most "shameful" and "cowardly" act.
FollowShah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Karan Johar, Shekhar Kapur and Farhan Akhtar, among others, were saddened and appalled by Monday evening terrorist attack on Amarnath pilgrims.
Terrorists killed seven Amarnath pilgrims, including six women, and injured 19 others as they struck a bus in Kashmir's Anantnag district, in the worst attack on the annual pilgrimage since the year 2001.
The film stars sent prayers to the victims of the attack and called it the most "shameful" and "cowardly" act.
Shah Rukh tweeted, "Saddening to see innocent lives being taken. Prayers for the victims and may God give strength to the families of the #AmarnathYatra pilgrims."
An angry Akshay wrote, "Attack on innocent #AmarnathYatra pilgrims is a low of another level! Prayers for all those affected."
Varun Dhawan expressed shock by writing, "Disturbed with the news about the #AmarnathYatra. Don't understand how can such people exist. Terrorist are cowards."
Alia Bhatt tweeted, "Shocked by the #AmarnathTerrorAttack Thoughts and prayers for the families who have to deal with this monstrous act! It just terrible!"
Farhan posted, "The attack on #AmarnathYatra pilgrims is deplorable... shame on the perpetrators and hope justice is delivered swiftly."
Shekhar shared, "Again a terrorist attack. On innocent pilgrims that wanted nothing but blessings of Lord Shiva. Time for action. Not words #AmarnathYatra."
Hansal Mehta said "the perpetrators must know that they belong to no religion. They are murderers."
Anupam Kher also sent heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims of terrorist attack by tweeting, "May God give them strength to deal with this unexpected loss."
"Terrorist attack on the pilgrims of #AmaranthYatra is most shameful and cowardly act. Security forces should wipe out these terrorists," he added.
Riteish Deshmukh wrote, "Wage a direct war and see who wins... how does killing innocent help whatever cause you are fighting for. #AmarnathTerrorAttack."
