She was also a part of recent shows like Swaragini and Qubool Hai on TV.

According to a  report published in the Indian Express, the actress has been accused of money laundering and theft after their two cheques of Rs 25 lakh each bounced at the banks. The reports say, Alka and her mother Vishwa had borrowed Rs 50 lakh from a farmer, Avtar Singh, a resident of Langrian village in Punjab, to make a TV serial, but did not return the money.

In an interview to a popular Hindi newspaper, Amar Ujala, Avtar Singh’s advocate Sukhbir Singh Punia said. “Alka and her mother had borrowed 50 lakhs from an acquaintance, which is my client. The money was borrowed with the promise of serial-making. When Avtar asked Alka to give back her money, he got two cheques of 25 lakhs each. But they got bounced. Later, Singh filed a case against the duo in Malerkotla court.”

Previously, the actress was sentenced to jail for two years in 2015 which Kaushal had avoided by petitioning the Sangrur Court, Punjab. Now Sangrur’s district court upheld the order of Malerkortla court. Unfortunately, after two years, Sangrur's district court decided to uphold the order of Malerkortla court. The actress and her mother are now in Sangrur district jail.
