Amitabh Bachchan Rishi Kapoors reunion as father and son

After 26 years, Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor are working together in a film titled 102 Not Out. This time, they will star as father and son in a unique satirical take at generation gap.

With the release of the first look, of the film, it seems like Amitabh’s character is a fun loving person whereas Rishi’s character is more of an uptight one. Amitabh has used prosthetics to look like 102 years old man, and according to the filmmakers, Big B's character will be of a cute grandpa-next-door.

 

 

Rishi Kapoor tweeted on Thursday, “Wonderful to work again with the Legendary Amitabh Bachchan. Thank you Amitji, it never felt the 26 years old hiatus.We connected instantly!” 

The film will be directed by Umesh Shukla and the shooting has commenced in Mumbai. 102 Not Out is based on a hit Gujarati play by the same name. It is a story of 102-year old Dattaraya Vakharia who at his age continues to spin aspirations and dreams, while his cynical son the 75-year old son, Babu is cautious and pessimistic.

Both the actors have given incredible performances in many Bollywood movies. Let us have a look at some of their blockbusters.

 

1) Amar Akbar Anthony

 

 

Amar Akbar Anthony, which is based on the long lost family theme, is about three brothers separated from each other in childhood, and raised in three different faiths, Hinduism, Islam and Christianity. It was the biggest blockbuster of 1977. 

 

2) Naseeb 

 

 

Naseeb is a typical Manmohan Desai film with his regular stars Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Rishi Kapoor, Shatrughan Sinha, and Reena Roy, The film was later remade in Tamil as Sandhippu with Sivaji Ganesan and Prabhu Ganesan and in Telugu as Trimurtulu with Daggubati Venkatesh.

 

3) Coolie

 

 

Coolie was directed by Manmohan Desai and written by Kader Khan. It features stars Amitabh Bachchan as a railway coolie, with supporting roles played by Rishi Kapoor, Rati Agnihotri, Kader Khan and Waheeda Rehman.

 

4) Ajooba

 

 

Ajooba was a fantasy film loosely based on Arabian mythology and produced and directed by Shashi Kapoor. 

 

5) Kabhie Kabhie

 

 

Kabhie Kabhie was produced and directed by Yash Chopra, and starring an ensemble cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Raakhee, Shashi Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh.

Meanwhile, Amitabh Bachchan’s new film Sarkar 3 released last Friday while Rishi Kapoor was last seen in 2016’s Kapoor & Sons.
