After Mollywood Manju Warrier to act in a Tamil film

Prominent Malayali actress Manju Warrier is all set to re-enter Kollywood. The veteran actress entered the film industry in 1995 and after quite some time is acting in a Tamil film.

Manju Warrier re-entered the industry with the film How old are you? and found place in the hit list of the heroines. How old are you? Has been made into 36 Vayadhinile  in Tamil, wherein Jyothika essayed the lead role.

Manju is all geared up to act in a woman-based story directed by Arivazhagan. Arivazhagan made his debut directing Eram and also gave a commercial hit Kutram-23. This new film is expected to be a bilingual – Tamil and Malayalam.

Earlier in the year, there were rumours of her acting in a Tamil film with Arvind Swami and at that time she was shooting for her film C/O Saira Banu.

The film is a thriller with controversial scenes. At first they intended to take actress Nayanthara in the lead role. But she is reported to have demanded  Rs 4 crors as remuneration for the film. Apart from that her recent films like Dor,Tirunal and Kashmora weren’t big hits either. So the unit decided to take Malayalam actress Manju Warrier in the lead role. The shooting of the film will start either in November or December this year.

Currently, apart from films she has been strongly advocating and participating in the newly formed organisation called Women's Collective in Cinema. They formed it after the actress abduction case in Kochi, since it dealt with a member of their own fraternity. Apart from her Rima Kallingal, Parvathy and Sajitha Madathil are part of the group.
