Actor Vishal calls off ‘Abhimanyudu’ promotions due to Thoothukudi protest

Actor Vishal, who was supposed to attend the audio launch of ‘Abhimanyudu’ (Telugu version of Irumbu Thirai) today in Hyderabad, called it off to express his solidarity with those protesting at Thoothukudi against the Sterlite plant. With the film receiving good response in Tamil, the expectations have been pretty much high among the Telugu audience as well. But, Vishal has decided not to attend the audio launch and other promotional activities due to the ongoing Thoothukudi crisis that is at a crucial stage now in Tamil Nadu. 

 

Producer Hari, who is releasing the Telugu version ‘Abhimanyudu’, has mentioned that Vishal has made this decision in respect to the innocent victims, who are suffering for a good cause. He also said that his production team respects his decision and that he will extend his support too by all means.

 

However, the film will be hitting the screens on June 1st as planned earlier.
