After Vidya Balan had opted out of the film Aami at the last minute, director Kamal found his Madhavikutty in Malayalam actress Manju Warrier.

This movie is a biopic based on renowned writer-poet Kamala Surayya. Manju revealed the first poster on her Facebook page, and she looks ravishing. The monochrome theme only further elevates her look. Manju got a traditional makeover, wearing a silk saree, oversized spectacles and a large nose piercing create quite the impression.

Produced by Raphael P Thomas and Robin Rocha, Aami is being directed by Kamal.

Interestingly, Aami is Kamal's third collaboration with Manju. Also starring Prithviraj, Murali Gopi and Anoop Menon, Aami is expected to release later this year.

Manju Warrier was recently seen in C/O Saira Banu that also starred Amala Akkineni. She played a post woman who hailed from a middle-class family in Kochi. Manju also played a mother to Shane Nigam, who starred as his teenage son. This movie marked Amala’s comeback to cinema after 25 years.

She will also be seen in Villain, starring Mohanlal. While the superstar will play a retired cop, Manju will play his wife.
