This is what happened when Komal was asked to sleep with 15 snakes

Sandalwood artiste Jaggesh has created his own niche in the industry with his 'out-of-the-box' movies. His contribution to the Kannada movie industry is immense, and Komal is Jaggesh's special gift to Kannada movie industry.

Komal began his cinema journey as a villain, but later he became synonymous with the comic characters. In fact, it was 'Kurigalu Saar Kurigalu' that unleashed his comic talent, for the first time. Later, he moved on from comedy to full-fledged hero-centric movies. Today, his successful movies are proof that he can solely shoulder the movies. Komal shares with us two funny incidents from his cinema journey.

It was during the shooting of 'Kurigalu Saar Kurigalu' (2001) wherein my character a groom-to-be had 'dosha' and to clear this 'dosha' I was required romance the snakes. Director SV Rajendra Singh Babu had asked 'Snake Babu' to arrange for the snakes. On the day of the shooting, we were all having breakfast when 'Snake Babu' informed the director that he had brought 15 snakes with him. But Babu was furious; he asked him to bring another 15 snakes, as Singh had planned to shoot with 30 snakes!

When I overheard that I had to romance 30 snakes, I was sweating with fear. When 'Snake Babu' was ready with another ten snakes, the camera started rolling. I was made to enter a room, and they were releasing snakes one-by-one from the window. I could see tens of snakes hissing around me, and I don't know, how I shot the scene. All I remember was cameraman Gaurishankar waking me up from the shoot!

In another incident, Komal was acting with along with Sudeep in a climax shoot for 'Masth Maja Madi' movie. In the scene, Sudeep had to threaten me with a gun. Sudeep was not impressed with the toy gun that the crew had brought. Instead, he volunteered to use his real gun. I pleaded with him not use the real gun as I was scared that the gun might be loaded with live bullets. Sudeep who understood my fears said don't worry, there are no live bullets in the gun and unlocked the gun to show. To his shock, there were live bullets in the gun. Everyone at the spot was stunned, and they were speechless! But it was fun shooting the scene, Komal said.
